The CHAMP Health Economics program examines the impact of the organization and delivery of healthcare on how (and how much) patients use healthcare services. Much of our research involves the use of quasi-experimental methods to identify causal relationships between (i) local- and national- policies and (ii) features of the healthcare delivery system on healthcare utilization and access, particularly among socially and economically marginalized populations such as Medicaid enrollees. Findings from this research create policy-relevant insights that can be used to inform and improve the delivery of healthcare to all patient populations.
