Who We Are
Joint Venture Health is a research and development program dedicated to building high-performing integrated health and education systems for kids and families from low-income communities. We partner with families, caregivers, and providers to achieve breakthrough solutions in child development, behavioral health, and workforce development.
Partners in Child Development
Pregnant women make 10-15 prenatal medical visits. Children visit their pediatricians on average 12 times during the first 36 months for well-child checks. Parents see physicians and their team as trusted messengers. We developed a primary care system that supports parents, pediatricians, obstetricians and their staff to be great partners in developing healthy kids and families.
Key Components of Our System
Cross-Sector City-Wide Pilot
We are piloting this system at North East Medical Services (NEMS), the largest Federally-funded Community Health Center in San Francisco. NEMS serves approximately 10,000 children, the equivalent of 1 in 10 in San Francisco.
Our integrated system is implemented at 7 clinics, serving children and families throughout the City.
Since founding, close to 50,000 children screened for developmental and behavioral health status!
